General Metalness sounds like a tough solider to me!! tee hee! Tougher than Corporal Kirchner anyways(Remember that Jobber!!)
So there i was browsing away at my fave gig finding site called Last.fm when i came across a gig that made me inhale deeply and then make THAT noise... Flicking through was i when the Name Exodus caught my eye, mmmm i thought I've never seen Exodus in America yet and they Are from the Bay Area after all..then i notice they are supporting and not just another band but there is 3 other bands above the mighty Exodus.. Excitedly i look into the gig and find who the 3 other bands are and they turn out to be none other than Death Angel and Testament... Dude!!!!,what an Awesome line up that is and if that were in England five years ago we would not have hesitated to have gone to see that line up!!
Oh!!!Did i say 3 Other Bands on the roster?? I did didn't i..................Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!(That Noise)
It,s Fuckin Tampax and i just winced as i saw they're name...Crap i thought!!Had it been Slayer i would have had me tickets already. Had it Been Anybody else, i would have had No doughts about getting tickets but as it happens we are already going to 3 gigs in October. But... We may still go as that is a humdinger of a line up and only 45 Min's drive down 101 to San Fran away!!! And i suppose an upside is....we will beat all the traffic out of the Parking Lot as we will be leaving an hour and half before everybody else!!! I cannot say here how much i despise Tampax as it will pain me to be even giving them my hard earned cash! Oh no,i will save my Despising Rant on Tampax for Mjolnirs Going Postal Thread!!!! Oh and it's at The coolest sounding venue ever...The Warfield in San Fransisco!!! (Look a gig Dvd up called Slayer:Live at the Warfield.)
What do you think about this line up Brother??? And all for just 28 dollar!!(wish you were here to attend these fine shows!!)

Damn.... I just made that noise also... Even more so, as the new Anthrax (yes, named after the bovine disease rather than the sanitary towel) album is absolutely fucking terrific! If I was there with you we may get into a parking lot brawl as you tried to leave before the end. I know your feelings towarsd them, and they are similar to the reasons you hate Shawn Michaels, and I hate Rey Mysterio. We all have things we inexplicably hate. The blues Brothers is another one of mine, along with Primus.
But if I was at that gig with you in SF, I may well leave with you anyway, as I would need to change my underwear after seeing Exodus, Death Angel and Testament all on the same bill. The question is begged though... why do they have a NY band on the same bill as three Bay Area bands? Surely someone like Forbidden, or Machine Head or Defiance would have completed a better bill?
I hope you do go dude, and I hope you enjoy it without ending the night on a downer by seeing Tampax.

Had it been Forbidden or Defiance or Machine head i would already have got my tickets and got you one just so you would have had to come out here to see that fantastic line up... Then, if you didnt turn up i would have sold it out side to one of those dodgy geezers that always acompany the gigs we go to..hehe!!

Chimera are now in Exodus' spot... Just over two weeks and i have an evening with Powerglove and Sabaton so i will not be missing the New York Fakies at all...(to think i had NOT shaved into me leg in 1988 an all!!)

The Tampax gig is now a distant memory as i will be having an evening with some very fine gents from the Shire of York in Britannia...A venue called the Avelon which is just a 12min drive from here are hosting our very own Saxon at the end of this month and it's on a friday night which is nice as me n denise dont work weekends... I downloaded a greatest hits cd for denise(yes, i borrow music now,but still buy them if i really like em) to familiarize herself and fuck me it's a live one from 1990 but it's where it was recorded thats funny...Rock City of all places, nice quality though and here i will give you a track listing to see what you think??
Track1-Heavy Metal Thunder ........2-Rock n Roll Gypsy ........3-And the Band played on ........4-Twenty Thousand feet ........5-Ride like the wind ........6-Motorcycle Man ........7-747 ........8-See the light shinin ........9-Frozen Rainbow .......10-Princess of the Night .......11-Wheels of Steel .......12-Denim and Leather .......14-Crusader .......15-Rockin Again .......16-Back on the Streets
Thats Not a bad song list is it?? Theres a couple i am not familiar with though?? Frozen Rainbow and See the light shinin for two??
My fave and it's not what you think is.........Crusader I fuckin love this song with a passion... Sabaton were still at school only dreaming of War Mekal when they would have listened to this song and maybe just maybe this is the track that got them on the path to Warsaw and Aushwitz etc...
And speaking of Saxon,i also Borrowed a new Album called 'Call to Arms'..It is very Classic sounding with elements of old Thrash(Afterburner) and even songs that sound like Classic Rainbow(When Doomsday Comes, which may be about the Borg???), and the rest are very good too.. A nice suprise and glad i am seeing them soon... A Metal Album in it's truest form and a nice Shot across the bow from the Old guard...8/10

Lol, that is indeed a fine collection of meckle. And from Rock City? Hmm... odd choice for a live recording. Frozen Rainbow is the first song on their debut album udue, and See The Light Shining is from off of Wheels Of Steel, so all classics... ... except one... ... Ride like The Wind has always, still does, and will always suck the sweat off a dead donkey's balls. I went off Saxon for many years after hearing that "Wimpwire" anthem. Not heard Call To Arms yet. Is that their latest album? Will check it out. In the meantime, if you get a chance, "borrow" an album by a British band called STUKA SQUADRON. You love the name, and you will love the band! Check out the song titles and you'll be needing to hear it ASAMFP. STUKA SQUADRON - Tales Of The Ost 1. Into the Breach 2. Tales of the Ost 3. The Last Resort 4. Stuka Squadron 5. A Cross of Iron 6. On the Volga Bridge 7. Tiger 1 8. The Fall 9. Lovecraft 10. Zabulon's Inferno 11. Lord of Valhalla 12. One Eyed God King 13. We Drink Blood And if that doesn't sell it to you, here is a picture of them:

Cool, btw that guy at the front is the singer, and he used to sing for a band which you saw inadvertantly one time in Nottingham, called Centurion's Ghost.
