Woohoo!!!! There's almost three months left for them to cancel!
Hmm, interesting addition to a stacked bill. I was 90% there, now I reckon I'm about 95% there. Cheers for the heads up, Ezwald.
I'm also very excited about the addition of Akercocke at Bloodstock. This really is turning into a purists metal fest.

I don't really dig the idea of interjecting the classic set with material from their new album Nostradamus. I've not heard it yet, but I kinda get the idea that the new stuff needs to be heard in it's entirety. I reckon hearing Metal Gods straight after Prophecy would be like hearing Die For Metal straight after Hymn Of The Immortal Warriors (from Manowar's concept masterpiece Gods Of War, for those false-metallers out there) - ie, it just does not seem to fit in.
I believe concept albums should be heard as one piece, as Iron Maiden did a couple of years ago with A Matter Of Life And Death. I'd love to see the Priest show where Nostradamus is all they play. And then the night after they play all the classics. That's the way it should be.
Having said that, I am INSANELY jealous of you, Grandma. As Priest on their worst night is still five times better than 95% of other bands on their best night.

First of all: I bought the album yesterday 'cause I am still priestified, playin' all the records every day. The songs kinda fit in, but I would not have opened the show with a new song. The album is definitely stronger than "Angel Of Retribution". Many midtempo- songs. Normally this sucks, but Priest master to give the album a very special atmosphere by playing in a moody tempo. It is very groovy, too and there are 4 to 5 realyy excellent writings on it (Revelations, Alone, Future Of Mankind, Conquest). The songs are more written FOR Halford's voice as it sounds in these days. Not to forget the (uptempo) titletrack that you even compare to "Painkiller" (some screams). However, concept album - concept show! You are right in saying that. It worked with W.A.S.P. (Crimson Idol + classics). The show in Sweden lasted for over two hours and I believe that 38000 went home with a big smile. Many unprospected songs (Hell Patrol, Sinner, Eat Me Alive) and a band in a much better shape than on the "Angel"- tour. As a fan I (of course) did my best to give the Swedish a good example of freakin' out the Judas way. Seriously: Excellent concert. Second best after Poison. Followed by RATT, Hanoi Rocks, Sweet Savage, Ministry, Kai Hansen, Triumph, Primal Fear. I even liked Def Leppard and Blue Öyster Cult. Missed Carcass (I know, shame on Ma; the energy ...). Festival season has just begun...

Never made it to the Holy Wacken Land, or to Bloodstock for that matter. New job commitments meant that metal came second place in this instance.
Not next year though, oh no. Next year, I intend to double -down and do both.
Roll on my fortieth year on earth.

Yep, excellent choice. Am I right that due to the Edda Freya was the mother of Thor and Loki - further THE goddess whose name finally led to Friday, in German Freitag, 'cause the old Germanics had names for every day in case to celebrate a different god. The today's names show a mix of Latin and Germanic influences. Monday was originally "manasdag"= the day of the moon, Tuesday was "ziusdag"= day of Zius, but I'm not sure which god or undergod that was, Wednesday was "wodansdag"= day of Wotan=Odin (in Germany the church wanted the heathen names to be rubbed out, so they put in "middawehha"=middle of the week=Mittwoch), Thursday of course is the day of one Thor (the Canadian lunatic is playin' on the Keep It True Festival in April. Ha!, Saturday="saturnusdag", which switched over in Germany to Samstag 'cause the hebreian "sabaton" was mixed in and Sunday is pretty easy. In any case I really wish you and your wife all the best. And get raedy: a little trasher will rock'n roll all night and party every day!
