The 9. 9. 08 sees the death of legendary Sodom-drummer Chris Witchhunter. He played on masterpieces like In The Sign Of Evil, Persecution Mania or Agent Orange. His sudden desease was reported to German Rockhard Magazine this late evening by his mother with the intention that the fans should be informed and no rumors should be spread. It is not yet solved why the 52 year old died. Witchhunter was as a Thrash Metal veteran responsible for anthems just as Bombenhagel, Baptisms Of Fire, Outbreak Of Evil, Tired And Red, Sodomy And Lust, Nuclear Winter or Ausgebombt. In my eyes 9.9. should from now on be recognized as Sodom Day in memory of one Chris Witchhunter. R.I.P. Chris. We will Remember The Fallen.

I agree. I read this very sad news on Sunday. I've been composing myself about what to write, but I couldn't have said it better than you, Grandma. I first saw Chris playing with Sodom on a certain evening in late 1988 as they performed in a tiny club in Sheffield, the very same night Iron Maiden believed they had a stranglehold on proceedings in the City Of Steel.
But for a mere few Sodomites, that night would see Destruction inducted into the Room Of Death, and Sodom inducted into our Hall Of Fame right here in Sheffield.
I will remember the Witchhunter as one of my heroes as a drummer, and one of my idols as a thrasher. Farewell, Chris, and thankyou for giving us The Final Sign Of Evil.
This comes on the same day as another of my heroes dies. UFC fighter Evan Tanner was always one of my favourite fighters, and always brought something new to each one of his fights, whether it be a new look, or a new chapter to his impressive catalogue of adventures away from the Octagon, or a new move or combo he had perfected during training. He possibly lost more than he won of his more recent encounters, but he was no less an icon because of it. To me anyway.
He apparently went out into the Californian desert on his motorcylcle for a camping trip, and after running out of gas, attempted to walk back to the nearest town. It is believed he was overcome by the immense heat of almost 120f.
A very sad loss for me personally and an even greater one for the sport of mixed martial arts. Evan was a great ambassador for MMA, and an influence to many people, whether for fighting or for his unique outlook on life.
What a sad double loss for me as a metalhead and a fight fan. I hope I never have to write a double obituary like this again.
