And here we go. To pick the drummers for the list isn't that easy 'cause you don't really know if it is technique and skill, charisma, innovation, speed, etc. that makes the man. Well, probably it is a bit of everything: 1. Keith Moon (You only have to see him as Uncle Earnie and you know that this guy was from another planet, so was his drumming. Maybe one of the most excessive musicians there has been in the Rock-biz.) 2. Charlie Benante (Not only an excellent drummer, but a creative musician as well. The unique early Anthrax-sound has much to do with his influence.) 3. Mikkey Dee (Brought the monster of Motörhead to another level. Philthy was allright, but Mr. Dee is the real drum-animal. You just have to listen to his collaborations with the King.) 4. Fenriz (Play live and give all the Darkthroners what they have been waiting for all the years.) 5. Bela B. (Drummer and second frontman of Die Ärzte. A drumming performer and vocalist and he plays while he is standing!) 6. Thommy Lee (His drum-kit on the Dr. Feelgood tour! A one man Rock n' Roll show!) 7. Janne Sarenpää (If you haven't listened to the first The Crown albums so far, do it now and you will know why he has to be in my list.) 8. Thomas Stauch (In my opinion 'Imaginations' and 'Nightfall' are the most convincing Blind Guardian outputs. Classics, on which was a kind of new sound created. Major credits go to Stauch. Very innovative.) 9. Mike Bordin (Back in the early 90s 'The Real Thing' exploded like an A-bomb. The sound and the weird characters in Faith No More made this success happen. One of them was Rasta-Bordin.) 10. Nicko McBrain (Remember 'Listen with Nicko'? Part I to ... this voice and the laughter...ha! And a pretty good drummer as well.)

1. Dave Lombardo - 'Nuff said. 2. Tomas Haake - WTF!?!? How does he do it? 3. John Bonham - Is anyone in rock today creative as this man? 4. Keith Moon - As above. 5. Charlie Benante - Criminally underrated. 6. Neil Peart - Strong influence on many drummers today, not hard to hear why. 7. Dave McClain - Again, an underrated drummer. 8. Kevin Talley - Non only for his Dying Fetus work, but his Slayer audtion & the fact he's helped out several extreme band to tour when they've encountered drummer problems. 9. Gene Hoglan - A strong thrash background & his work with Devin. 10. Mike Bordin + Billy Gould = Faith No More had a flawless rhythm section.
